The Kia Sorento’s trim lineup begins with the LX trim, expected to start in the neighborhood of $31,000-$32,000. That’s a very rough estimate because Kia has not yet announced the official trim lineup for 2024 at all. That estimate would be based on the nicely done LX model from 2023. Its 2.5L 191-horsepower engine is expected to return on the 2024 Kia Sorento. The rest of our 2024 Kia Sorento review will also rely heavily on information and educated guesses based on the model’s 2023 outing. That doesn’t mean we don’t have a few official looks at what the Sorento exterior will look like. That’s the one area where Kia has shown us a glimpse of what’s ahead for the latest Sorento.

Interior

Kia’s new-look Sorento cabin was recently showcased by the brand, and the interior was a stunning step forward. The biggest difference is in the size of the interior touchscreen and digital instrument panel. They’re combined together in an on-dash configuration and sit behind the steering wheel and immediately to the driver’s right. It’s a very powerful display of technology and still leaves room for a small physical control panel just below the touchscreen. Kia also uses the driver’s dial console for many major technology functions. The interior was shown in a two-tone look with a darker dash and lighter seating color. The wheel looked to be leather-wrapped in a two-tone shade. Air vents are vertical with a hexagonal design. Most 2024 Kia Sorento review details describe the dual screen displays as being 12.3 inches. This is Kia’s largest screen yet for mainstream SUVs, and so 12.3 inches sounds like a correct estimate. Exterior

The striking new 2024 Sorento exterior is shown in a tan paint for all first-look pics of the SUV. The model is as muscular as ever, but you’ll find that the front and rear-end design have been modernized with a tidier design. Deep-tinted windows, body-color door handles, and two sleek light bars are all part of the new Sorento. There are thicker chrome window moldings and a rear spoiler showing in production photos as well. Our 2024 Kia Sorento review is just the beginning of everything there is to know about the latest Sorento. We’ll update more about the exterior as official specs are unveiled.

Mechanical

The Sorento is known for its 8-speed automatic transmission, and Kia shows no indication that they’re going to drop that transmission in 2024. An 8-speed dual-clutch wet type transmission was also available and is expected to return for 2024. Powertrain

Last year’s 2.5L 4-cylinder base engine was rated at 191 horsepower and 182 lb-ft of torque. For now, it looks like Kia is going to stick with this base configuration. The strongest Sorento transmission was the model’s turbocharged 2.5L 4-cylinder, and it has a 281 horsepower and 311 lb-ft of torque rating. For now, that’s a safe bet for the 2024 Sorento. However, Kia is known for gifting wonderful surprises during an unveiling, so assume that’s at least the power you’ll get. There may be powertrain changes by the time the Sorento appears at Ken Ganley Kia Boardman.

Safety

There may be new driver-assist features available for the 2024 Sorento, but Kia hasn’t announced them yet. Our dealership knows that everyone will see a return of features like blind spot detection tech, front and rear parking sensors, and automatic emergency braking with pedestrian and junction turning detection. We’ll announce additional features as Kia does.
