Exterior - 2020 Kia Optima Plug-In Hybrid
There are four exterior colors available: Aluminum Silver, Snow White Pearl, Gravity Blue and Aurora Black Pearl. The base trim theme is Black Leather, but if you choose either Snow White Pearl or Gravity Blue, you can opt for White Leather instead. The standard wheels are 17-inch alloy. There are parking sensors for the parking guidance system. Projector beam headlights and rear LED taillights are standard, and you can opt for LED daytime running lamps. Another interesting aspect of our Ohio review the Smart Trunk, which will automatically open when approached and even turn on the cargo lighting.
Interior - 2020 Kia Optima Plug-In Hybrid in Boardman
There is but a single trim available for the Optima Plug-In Hybrid, but there are equipment groups available—such as the Technology package—through which you can customize your sedan. You get a Uvo infotainment center with an 8-inch color touchscreen. Voice commands are supported, and you can easily sync your smartphone via Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. If you opt for that Technology package, you get an integrated navigation system as well as a premium Harman Kardon audio system. That package also upgrades the driver seat with more adjustability options and better lumbar support.
Mechanical - Kia Optima Plug-In Hybrid specs in Boardman
The Optima Plug-In Hybrid is a front-wheel-drive sedan. The term plug-in hybrid electric vehicle is often abbreviated PHEV. Many PHEVs use gasoline and electric power in tandem. The Optima does that. One of the more notable aspects of our Ohio review is that Kia has added an Eco mode. Activate that and the vehicle will use the available electric miles exclusively. You do not have to worry about extending your range, however, since the vehicle is smart enough to switch back as needed. The vehicle does have regenerative braking, but you will have to recharge the battery, and you have a couple of options on that front. A Level 1 charger is included and will plug into any standard household outlet. You can also opt for a Level 2 charger—240 volts—that can charge the battery to full in about three hours.
Powertrain - 2020 Kia Optima Plug-In Hybrid dealer

The Drive Wise driver aid package also includes forward collision detection with automatic emergency braking and a cruise control system that can adjust speed automatically based on current traffic conditions. Pedestrian detection is new for this year, and all models have Uvo communications.
