A single-motor Kia EV9 should begin at around 200 horsepower on its debut edition. From there, Kia should give customers a range of single or dual motor powertrains, including one that could skyrocket to over 400 horsepower with the right engineers making the final calls. Remember that while our all-electric Kia EV9 review makes a few guesses at first specs, the official specs are still lurking in the future. We'll update as soon as we have official horsepower and torque specs for the new EV9.

Expect nothing but the most futuristic of driver-assist features on the EV9, including the most-wanted hands-off driving function. It's likely that Kia will still keep hands-off driving in partnership with the driver's full attention, but full attention is a lot easier with features like Kia's Driver Attention Warning and system. Automatic Emergency braking on this model will be advanced and include detection of cyclists and pedestrians. We also expect lane keeping systems to add a few more innovations to the already known lake keeping systems from Kia's Drive Wise. An SUV that looks as smart as the EV9 is going to change the game on driver-assist intelligence, too.
